Lloyd & Cowan Veterinary Recruitment are delighted to be representing a well, equipped Veterinary Practice with modern amenities based in Dorchester, Dorset is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join its dedicated team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a purpose-built facility equipped with modern amenities, including an operating theatre, dedicated consult rooms, and a range of essential diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

·         Clinical Duties: Perform routine neutering, procedures, and emergency and critical care. Confidence with periods of sole charge is ideal, though not a regular part of the rota.

·         Team Collaboration: Work alongside the Clinical Lead, an experienced Vet, and a three-strong nursing team, including the Practice Manager.

·         Practice Development: Contribute to the development of the practice and provide high levels of service and care to a loyal and growing client base.

The practice is purpose-built with excellent facilities, including:

·         Operating theatre

·         Dedicated consult rooms

·         Nurse consult room/x-ray room

·         Digital x-ray

·         Ultrasound

·         In-house lab equipment

·         Full multi-parameter monitoring equipment

Working Hours

·         This role can be full-time or part-time with no out-of-hours or weekend requirements.

·         The practice offers flexible working hours to ensure a good work-life balance.

·         The schedule includes 15-minute consultations and allocated time for lunch and administrative tasks.

Experience

·         Experience: Confidence with routine neutering, procedures, and emergency and critical care.

·         Communication: Strong communication skills are essential.

·         Professional Development: Opportunities for CPD and support towards obtaining certificates.

Salary & benefits

·         Competitive Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 FTE, based on experience.

·         Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks, pro-rata for part-time.

·         Memberships: RCVS and VDS memberships paid, plus one additional membership.
