Are You a Veterinary Surgeon Ready to Take the Lead in a Busy, Modern Practice?
I’m working with a thriving small-animal clinic in a lively city setting, and I’m looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a senior role and help shape the next chapter of this already successful practice. If you enjoy a high clinical pace, love being hands-on, and want real influence over how a practice runs, this could be exactly what you’re looking for.
You’ll be joining a friendly, established team at a time of growth and positive change, with investment already made in facilities, equipment and people.
What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out
-
High, varied caseload that will keep your clinical skills sharp and your days interesting
-
Modern equipment, including a recently upgraded ultrasound and well-equipped consulting and theatre areas
-
Support from a larger hospital nearby for complex cases and out-of-hours care
-
Experienced regional and clinical leadership on hand if this is your first step into a senior role
-
The chance to put your stamp on the practice as it grows and evolves
Your Day-to-Day
-
Leading by example in all aspects of first-opinion small-animal work
-
Managing a busy mix of consults, surgery and diagnostics
-
Supporting and mentoring vets and nurses, and helping embed clinical standards
-
Building and maintaining strong client relationships in a very engaged local community
-
Contributing to practice development, new ideas and continuous improvement
The rota is designed to balance clinical leadership with time to breathe, including a 4-day working week, shared weekends and a small number of shorter twilight shifts, all planned to protect your work–life balance.
What I’m Looking For
-
MRCVS-qualified Veterinary Surgeon with solid general practice experience
-
Confident handling a busy caseload and comfortable making decisions
-
Someone who enjoys leading, mentoring and collaborating
-
A vet who thrives in an inner-city, fast-paced environment and values client communication as much as clinical excellence
What You’ll Receive
You’ll be well supported and properly rewarded, with a package designed to recognise your senior responsibilities and future growth, including:
-
Competitive senior salary with clear room to progress
-
Generous holiday allowance, including bank holidays
-
Substantial CPD budget each year, plus paid CPD days to genuinely attend and learn
-
Private medical cover
-
Pension scheme and other financial benefits
-
Access to advanced training, leadership development and internal support networks
-
A genuinely supportive, close-knit team culture where your input is listened to and your expertise is respected
If you’re a Veterinary Surgeon who wants more than “just another job” and you’re ready to lead a busy, modern practice with real support behind you, I’d be delighted to talk in confidence.
Please contact me directly, in strict confidence, on +44 2887 658068 or email emily@lloydandcowan.com to discuss the role and your ambitions.
