Here at Lloyd & Cowan we are delighted to be working with a practice who is excited to welcome a passionate Small Animal Vet to their collaborative and supportive team. Their practice values teamwork and ensures that everyone has the resources and backing they need to excel.

About them:

  • Team: Their nine-vet team includes multiple certificate holders and benefits from the expertise of a visiting advanced practitioner in orthopaedics and imaging, as well as a weekly ophthalmology clinic with a certificate holder.

  • Support Staff: Their highly efficient and knowledgeable nurses are crucial to their success.

  • Facilities: They are equipped with digital x-ray, an ultrasound machine, dental x-ray, endoscope, bronchoscope, and an in-house lab with a dedicated technician.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Position: They are open to applications for both a Small Animal Vet role and a Senior Veterinary Surgeon position, depending on your experience and career goals.

  • Duties: Your role will include a mix of consultations and surgery. They offer 15-minute consults in 1.5-2 hour blocks with dedicated on-the-day appointments and regular breaks, including 30 minutes of paid ‘wrapping up’ time after your last appointment.

Work-Life Balance:

  • Schedule: Enjoy a 4-day workweek with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota, with a day off in lieu the following week. No out-of-hours work, and their TOIL system ensures you’re compensated if you occasionally work late.

Salary:

Up to £68,000 DOE (Yearly salary review)

  • £5k joining bonus (pro rata for part time)

  • Support for working towards a certificate, or developing area of interest further if a certificate holder (e.g. dedicated clinics/surgery time etc)
