Veterinary Surgeon Opportunity in Staffordshire - Exceptional Team and State-of-the-Art Facilities

Are you a passionate Veterinary Surgeon looking to thrive in a practice that prioritises growth, excellence, and work-life balance? This opportunity in the heart of Staffordshire offers an ideal blend of professional development and a supportive team environment, with no out-of-hours requirements. Situated amidst the beauty of the Peak District, Cannock Chase, and close to Cheshire, the area provides both cultural attractions and natural landscapes.

About the Practice

Founded in 2009, this small animal practice has grown significantly, now housed in a purpose-built, two-story facility spanning 4,500 square feet. Equipped with an on-site CT scanner, a rehabilitation centre with hydrotherapy and physiotherapy, a dental radiography suite, seven consultation rooms, two theatres, diagnostic imaging and ultrasound suite, and in-house lab facilities, the practice offers a comprehensive, high-standard environment. The majority of cases are managed in-house, with support from nearby hospitals for more complex cases.

The dedicated team includes four experienced vets, six RVNs, two Veterinary Care Assistants, and six Client Care Advisors. With special interests in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, as well as advanced diagnostics, the team is well-positioned to support a diverse caseload and encourage individual professional growth.

Your Role

This role is flexible based on your interests and career aspirations. Responsibilities may include general practice work—consults, routine surgeries, and dental care—along with case management and CT diagnostics. Whether you’re interested in focusing on consultations, obtaining a certificate, or enhancing your surgical skills, this practice will tailor the role to fit your goals. Core duties include delivering high-quality clinical care, supporting the team, and fostering a progressive clinical culture.

  • Strong communication skills and commitment to teamwork

  • Dedication to providing outstanding client care

Benefits

  • Competitive salary up to £80,000, with bespoke packages for certificate holders

  • Full funding for RCVS, VDS, subscriptions, CPD, and additional certifications

  • Private healthcare, pension, and generous holiday allowance

  • Monday-Friday hours from 8:30 am to 7 pm, with Saturdays on a 1:4 rota (9 am to 12 pm)

  • No Sundays, Bank Holidays, or out-of-hours commitments
