Are You Ready to Build a Career in Emergency & Critical Care?

I’m currently working with a thriving 24-hour small animal hospital seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with a genuine interest in ECC. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled, welcoming, and supportive team with a strong clinical culture and an excellent reputation for delivering round-the-clock care.

You’ll be joining a practice that manages everything from first-opinion cases to complex emergencies, providing hospitalisation, intensive care, and advanced diagnostic and surgical support to surrounding branches. The team includes certificate holders, experienced ECC colleagues, dedicated RVNs and SVNs, Veterinary Care Assistants, and a strong client care team, all led by an experienced Practice Manager.

This role is ideal for someone looking to strengthen their ECC experience while working within an environment designed to help clinicians excel. You’ll work a full-time 39-hour week with a fair share of weekends, giving you a balanced rota and continuous exposure to a wide range of cases.

What You Can Look Forward To

A comprehensive package designed to support your professional development, wellbeing, and work–life balance:

  • 5 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays

  • £1,500 CPD allowance plus 3 days’ paid CPD leave

  • Funded certificate opportunities

  • Professional fees paid (VDS, RCVS, BVA)

  • Interest-free season ticket loan

  • Discounts on products and services

  • Visa sponsorship and relocation support where required

What the Role Involves

  • Delivering high-quality clinical care during consultations, procedures, and emergency cases

  • Providing clear, compassionate communication to clients

  • Maintaining excellent compliance, clinical standards, and accurate care plans

  • Sharing clinical best practice within the hospital and wider network

  • Delivering strong teamwork and contributing to a progressive, supportive environment

What You’ll Bring

  • RCVS registration as a Veterinary Surgeon

  • Experience delivering exceptional patient and client care

  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure

  • A positive, progressive approach to clinical culture

  • Leadership, coaching or mentoring skills

  • An interest—ideally experience—in ECC work
