An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join a busy, well-equipped veterinary clinic located in the stunning town of Wanaka in New Zealand’s South Island.

This role is perfect for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality patient care. Working alongside a supportive team of vets and nurses, you will play a key role in a wide variety of procedures, particularly surgical nursing and anaesthesia.

About the Role

As part of a collaborative and professional veterinary team, you will be involved in a diverse caseload across both surgical and general nursing duties. The clinic provides comprehensive veterinary services to both companion animals and production animals within the local community.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with surgical procedures and monitoring anaesthesia

• Providing high-quality inpatient and post-operative care

• Animal handling and patient preparation

• Veterinary nurse consultations

• Maintaining clinical hygiene and assisting with day-to-day hospital duties

• Participating in a shared roster that includes occasional Saturdays and an on-call rota for weekends and public holidays

This is a full-time permanent position offering excellent clinical exposure and the opportunity to further develop your skills in a supportive environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a confident and capable Veterinary Nurse who thrives in a busy practice and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.

You will bring:

• A recognised Veterinary Nursing qualification (Diploma level or above)

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues

• A proactive attitude with the ability to prioritise and adapt in a dynamic clinical setting

• A friendly, positive personality and strong team ethic

• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient care
