Veterinary Nurse

Taumarunui, King Country | Full-Time

Talal at Lloyd & Cowan Recruitment is currently working with a respected veterinary clinic in the King Country region to recruit an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join their established and supportive team.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a committed veterinary nurse seeking a stable position within a collaborative clinical environment that values high standards of patient care, professional development, and strong teamwork.


The Role

Reporting to the Clinic Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality veterinary nursing care while supporting veterinarians and contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of the clinic.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional, compassionate nursing care, including the administration of medications and anaesthesia

  • Monitoring patients throughout procedures and recovery, responding appropriately to changes in condition

  • Assisting with surgical procedures and maintaining theatre standards

  • Communicating treatment plans and post-care instructions clearly and professionally to clients

  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues where appropriate

  • Collaborating with veterinarians and clinic staff to maintain efficient clinical workflows

  • Managing clinical supplies and maintaining accurate medical records


About You

This position will suit a veterinary nurse who is dedicated, reliable, and committed to delivering excellent patient care.

Essential requirements include:

  • Legal right to work in New Zealand

  • Diploma in Veterinary Nursing with a minimum of two years’ practical experience

  • Experience or strong interest in anaesthesia and patient monitoring

  • A professional, calm, and approachable manner

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

  • A compassionate, patient-focused approach to care

  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
