The Role
This permanent position is for 32 hours per week, with the occasional Saturday shift shared on a rotating roster with the team.
You’ll be working alongside a skilled and welcoming group of veterinarians and nurses who are passionate about collaboration, learning, and delivering high-quality care. Nurses are encouraged to work to the top of their scope, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys being actively involved in clinical work.
Reporting to the Clinic Coordinator, you’ll also have opportunities to collaborate with a wider network of clinics across Central Otago, adding variety and shared learning to your role.
Key Responsibilities

Delivering high-quality nursing care, including administering medications and assisting with anaesthesia

Monitoring patients during recovery and responding to changes in condition

Assisting with surgical procedures and supporting smooth theatre operations

Communicating treatment plans and post-care advice clearly to pet owners

Mentoring and supporting team members through knowledge sharing

Collaborating with veterinarians and clinic staff to ensure efficient workflows

Managing clinical supplies and maintaining accurate records
About You
This role would suit a veterinary nurse who is passionate about animal care and enjoys being part of a supportive, team-focused environment.
You will ideally bring:

New Zealand working rights

A Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (new graduates and experienced nurses are encouraged to apply)

An interest or confidence in anaesthesia and patient monitoring
