I’m delighted to be working with a well-established small animal hospital in Drogheda that’s looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly, supportive team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for both new graduates and experienced nurses who want to work in a collaborative and progressive environment. The hospital offers excellent facilities, a positive culture, and strong support for professional development – including fully funded certificates and postgraduate qualifications.
The role can be tailored to suit your needs – whether you’re looking for a permanent position or prefer a 12-month fixed-term contract, flexibility is available.
What the Role Involves
As part of a highly skilled nursing team, you’ll enjoy a varied and engaging workload, including:
-
Consultations and nurse clinics
-
Surgical and theatre nursing
-
Inpatient care and recovery
-
Laboratory and pharmacy duties
-
Client communication and education
The position is full-time (37.5 hours over 5 days), with weekends on a 1 in 6 rotation and no overnight work, ensuring a genuine work-life balance.
What We’re Looking For
-
Registered (or eligible to register in 2025) with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI)
-
A team player with excellent communication and organisational skills
-
Enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated to provide high standards of care
-
Experience in small animal practice is advantageous, but not essential – tailored support and mentorship are available for new graduates
About the Hospital
You’ll be joining a collaborative team of vets, nurses, ACAs, and support staff who take pride in maintaining a positive, caring atmosphere for both patients and colleagues.
The hospital is modern and fully equipped, featuring:
-
Digital and dental X-ray
-
Ultrasound
-
In-house blood analysers
-
Separate cat and dog consultation areas
The hospital also holds ISFM Gold Cat Friendly accreditation and provides referral services in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, and ultrasonography.
A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork, wellbeing, and professional growth – with wellness advocates, regular case discussions, and a supportive management team who prioritise development and balance.
