Head Registered Veterinary Nurse – Fixed Term Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and confident Head Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly and well-established small animal practice on a 12-month fixed-term basis.
This role would suit a proactive and compassionate RVN with previous leadership experience who enjoys supporting and developing others while continuing to work hands-on in a clinical setting.
The Practice
This is a busy, community-focused small animal practice with a supportive clinical team and a loyal client base. The practice is well-equipped for a range of medical and surgical procedures, and the caseload is varied and engaging.
You’ll be working in a welcoming, close-knit environment alongside a team of vets, nurses, and support staff who genuinely enjoy what they do.
The location offers a mix of green space and local amenities, with great access to nearby towns and transport links.
The Role
As Head Nurse, you'll play a key role in leading the nursing team and ensuring high standards of patient and client care. Responsibilities include:

Supporting the day-to-day running of the clinic

Leading nurse consultations and assisting in surgery

Coaching and mentoring junior team members

Coordinating patient care and ensuring smooth clinical operations

Ensuring compliance with clinical and operational standards

Collaborating with the wider team to continually improve care and service
About You
-
RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse
-
Confident leading a clinical team
-
Previous experience in a Head or Senior Nurse role preferred

Clinical Coach qualification (or open to training)

Strong communicator with a supportive, team-focused mindset
-
Passionate about high standards and progressive veterinary care
