Registered Veterinary Nurse – Small Animal Practice | Cork

Supportive, Forward-Thinking Team | Diverse Caseload | CPD Encouraged

Are you an experienced and proactive Registered Veterinary Nurse seeking a new opportunity within a practice that genuinely values its team, invests in development, and maintains a strong reputation for clinical care?

We’re working on behalf of a well-established, independent small animal clinic in Cork, currently looking to expand its team with the addition of a motivated RVN. This is a great chance to become part of a cohesive, progressive practice where nurses are truly valued and empowered to work to their full potential.

About the Practice:

This modern, purpose-built clinic is equipped with up-to-date technology and facilities, including digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house lab, and dedicated surgical and dental suites. The team prides itself on maintaining high clinical standards while fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.

You’ll be joining an experienced group of vets and veterinary nurses who work closely together to provide exceptional patient care and client service. There’s a strong emphasis on professional growth, with regular CPD encouraged and supported.

The Role:

  • Job Title: Registered Veterinary Nurse

  • Employment Type: Full-time (part-time also considered for the right candidate)

  • Schedule: Flexible rota including occasional weekends and out-of-hours, shared fairly across the team

  • Location: Cork, Ireland

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring anaesthesia and assisting with surgeries

  • Inpatient care and recovery monitoring

  • Nurse consultations and follow-ups

  • Laboratory work and diagnostic support

  • Frontline client communication and post-op advice

  • Involvement in protocol improvements and patient care initiatives

This is an ideal role for a nurse who enjoys a well-rounded clinical role, values teamwork, and is seeking a position where they can take initiative and contribute to the overall growth and success of the practice.

What They’re Looking For:

  • VCI Registered RVN (or eligibility for registration in Ireland)

  • Confident in all aspects of small animal nursing

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with a genuine passion for veterinary nursing

  • Willingness to take part in ongoing training and CPD

What’s on Offer:

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience and qualifications

  • Coverage of VCI and VDS membership fees

  • Generous CPD allowance, with funding and time off for relevant training or further study

  • Supportive leadership that encourages your input and career goals

  • Exposure to a broad and rewarding caseload, including surgery, medical cases, diagnostics, and preventative care

  • A welcoming, inclusive work environment with a close-knit team

Whether you’re looking for a fresh challenge or a new environment where your skills will be recognised and supported, this practice could be your perfect fit.
