A well-established and progressive small animal practice is seeking dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join their team. Located just ten minutes from the beach, this clinic offers a comprehensive range of services including Preventative Care, Surgery, Dentistry, In-House Diagnostics, Digital Radiology, and Ultrasonography.
Job Description:
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients and support to the veterinary team. Responsibilities include:
Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients
Collection and analysis of lab samples
Diagnostic imaging and radiology
Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases
Administration of medications and anesthesia
Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
Surgical preparation and assistance
Anesthetic management
Qualifications:
We are seeking individuals who possess:
A minimum of 1-year experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred
Strong work ethic and positive attitude as a team member
Exceptional customer service skills and precise communication abilities
Proficiency in interpreting medical records and recording client history accurately
Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital workflow
Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
Proficiency in sample collection (blood, urine, fecal, skin) and laboratory procedures
Experience with radiographic positioning; dental radiography experience is a plus
Proficiency in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
Self-starter mentality with a desire to advance knowledge and skills
Ability to receive constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
Special Working Conditions:
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
Comfort and confidence around animals; ability to handle potentially hazardous situations (bites, scratches, etc.)
Flexibility to occasionally work more than 40 hours per week based on client needs and workload
Physical capability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds; perform tasks requiring stooping, kneeling, and climbing
Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity for equipment operation and task performance
