I’m working with a well-established, truly independent small animal practice in Co. Tyrone, who are expanding their team and looking to welcome two Veterinary Surgeons into a supportive, progressive environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an independent 5-vet team where clinical standards are high, the caseload is varied, and clients are genuinely keen to pursue thorough case work-ups.

The Roles Available

1) Permanent Vet Role

  • Full-time: 4-day week

  • 1 in 4 late Friday + Saturday rota (until 2pm)

  • 1 late evening clinic per week (until 7pm)

  • No on-call

  • Part-time / flexible working also considered

2) Maternity Cover

  • Starting May 2026

  • 6-month fixed-term contract

You’ll be joining a dynamic and progressive independent clinic with a strong reputation locally, offering a great mix of first opinion and more advanced work-ups, alongside the occasional referral-style case.

The team includes:

  • 5 Veterinary Surgeons

  • 2 Certificate holders (Medicine, Surgery & Endosurgery)

  • 2 additional vets currently working towards certificates (Surgery & Imaging)

  • Regular support from visiting specialists, including:

    • Ophthalmology

    • Cardiology

For anyone keen to develop further, there is real scope to pursue postgraduate qualifications with excellent internal support.

There’s also an optional variety of cases including exotics (yes — even the occasional goldfish surgery for those with an interest!).

Facilities & Equipment

This practice is exceptionally well-equipped, including:

  • Full IDEXX suite

  • Digital X-ray

  • Doppler ultrasound

  • Rigid + flexible video endoscopy

  • Laparoscopic equipment

  • In-house orthopaedic surgery

They are also an approved Veterinary Nurse training practice, with a strong team of support staff in place to help you thrive.

The Ideal Vet

  • 1–2 years’ experience or more preferred

  • Confident with routine consults and basic surgery

  • Full support provided for more complex cases

  • Exceptional new graduates will also be considered
