Searching for True Work–Life Balance in a Brilliant Location? This Could Be Your Next Dream Role

I’m delighted to share an outstanding part-time opportunity for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who wants meaningful clinical work without compromising on lifestyle. If you’re looking for a vibrant area, a supportive team, and a genuinely enjoyable working rhythm, this role could be an ideal fit.

About the Role

This position offers two set days per week, giving you the stability of a consistent routine while still enjoying the freedom of a flexible work–life blend. You’ll join a friendly, close-knit team known for delivering exceptional patient care and building long-standing bonds with their community.

You’ll be working in a well-equipped, modern clinic with excellent facilities, including ultrasound and strong nursing support. Your responsibilities will include routine GP consultations, standard surgeries, and contributing to a positive team culture.

Your rota includes:

  • Two weekday shifts (8:30–18:30)

  • 1:3 Saturday mornings

  • 1:20 Sunday rotation at a nearby 24-hour hospital

  • 1 bank holiday per year

  • No on-call duties

You’ll also have full support from a senior vet, an experienced nursing team, a dedicated regional manager and clinical leadership team, along with seamless referral pathways to a 24-hour hospital for more complex cases.

What You’ll Receive

To ensure you feel valued, supported, and excited about your future, this role comes with an attractive, carefully structured package, including:

  • A competitive salary of £24,480–£33,184 (FTE £45,000–£61,000), with scope to grow

  • Excellent work–life balance, only two days per week plus a light weekend rotation

  • Enhanced CPD allowance, with dedicated learning days and support for clinical development

  • Private medical insurance options, giving you confidence and clarity around your wellbeing

  • Paid professional memberships, taking the admin and expense off your hands

  • Access to wellbeing and mental health resources, providing confidential assistance whenever needed

  • Staff discounts across veterinary services and partner schemes

  • Relocation support, where applicable

  • Optional extra shifts across the region if you’d like to top up your hours from time to time

This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet who thrives in a supportive team, enjoys building client relationships, and wants a role that works for their life, not the other way around!
