We at Lloyd & Cowan are pleased to be working with a practice who have an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse join their team. The caseload is Primarily SA work (90%), but there’s the opportunity to get involved with some LA work and potential for more in the future if someone has an interest. They are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual who is keen to develop their career in a busy veterinary practice. This position allows for the opportunity to carry out Schedule 3 procedures if applicable, or for development to be able to do so in the future. 


This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position with weekend and out of hours work. However they are happy to offer part time to the right candidate, who can commit to the out of hours rota. 

Standard working hours are detailed below;
• Shifts hours are 8.00am-4.30pm, 8.30am-5.00pm, 9.00am-5.30pm and 9.30am-6.00pm
• Night shift hours are 6:00pm-8:00am
• Saturday mornings are 2 in 6 (8.00am-12:00pm Saturday)
• Out of hours weekends are 1 in 6 (8:00am Saturday – 8:00am Monday)
• Days off are given in return for Saturday mornings worked the following week

About them:

Across the group and their 4 practices they have 40 members of staff including 16 Veterinary Surgeons with 1 being a certificate holder, 15 Registered/Student Veterinary Nurses and Animal Care Assistants, with experience ranging from new graduates to 35 years, and a fantastic team of Support Staff. They pride them.selves in being a friendly and welcoming team with a supportive environment. The team regularly attend social events together and have multiple gatherings throughout the year for all practices in the group.

Their main practice is located in central Retford and from there they provide services for farm and small animal clients as well as wildlife parks and equine clients. They are dedicated to providing excellent patient, client and employee care. They are well equipped with an ultrasound with Doppler and ECG, digital DR Xray, dental Xray, video endoscopy and full internal lab.


Salary up to £29,000 depending on experience plus benefits
