​An opportunity has risen for a full-time or part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join an existing team of highly competent nurses in Belfast.

About the Practice:

This clinic is a leading, RCVS-accredited, general and referral hospital in Belfast. Their diagnostics and treatments are second to none and the clinical team is highly trained and experienced to ensure their patients receive the very best treatment. The referral work encompasses the fields of orthopaedics, ophthalmology, internal medicine, neurology, cardiology, soft tissue surgery, rehabilitation, and pain management.

You will join a team of 26 nurses, ward assistants, lab technician and sterile services technician working with 10 Veterinary Surgeons. The facilities include three operating theatres, an x-ray, on-site 16 slice CT, visiting high field MRI, ultrasound, arthroscopy, fluoroscopy, and endoscopy.

The Role:

  • Your role will be busy and varied, incorporating all aspects of nursing and they support their nurses in developing any areas of interest, CPD and in-house training are actively encouraged and funded.

  • You will be required to work 8-hour shifts across 5 days per week, between 8 am and 7:30 pm. With a 1:8 share in the weekend rota and approximately 5 weekends on call per year. The salary for this role is up to £31,000 per annum depending on experience (for a full-time employee).

The Ideal Nurse:

  • We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse with post-qualifying experience to deliver the highest standards of patient and client care.

  • You will demonstrate experience of working as part of a team, have good communication skills, can work in a busy environment and multi-task.

  • Experience in referrals work and/or anaesthesia is an advantage although not essential.
