Chance to develop your nursing knowledge and skills at a multi-disciplinary referral hospital based in Stockport.

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic individual who pays high attention to detail and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for delivering a high level of nursing care to the clinic's patients in this fast-growing service.

You will be exposed to a variety of orthopaedic cases, spanning fracture repairs, limb deformation corrective surgery, cruciate repairs and elbow and stifle arthroscopy. With 2 orthopaedic surgeons and high demand they have decided to add to the existing team of orthopaedic RVN’s. The RVN’s rotate between the anaesthetising (and performing various local anaesthesia techniques) and surgical assistance during the procedures. They take an active role in post-operative care for both in-patients and out-patients.

The branch offer a supportive learning environment for nurses- CPD is encouraged and funded. Many of the nurses have achieved or are working towards certificates in further studies (anaesthesia, surgery, dentistry) and/or advanced diplomas. And they host regular in-house CPD, hold ‘Clinical Club’ meetings every 3 months and the nurses were heavily involved in achieving Hospital Status with the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme.

Hours:

This role is ideally full time (4 or 5 working days per week) but flexible working options will be considered. There will be 1 in 6 weekends. Days off in lieu given for any shifts worked at the weekend or bank holidays. There is also the possibility of twilight shifts and some emergency cover- this can be discussed at a later point.

A typical candidate should have:

  • RVN status

  • Confidence in their professional abilities

  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a large team

  • Desire to offer gold standard clinical care at all times

  • Interest in orthopaedic surgery

Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum plus bank/public holidays pro rata.

Remuneration is £24,000-£29,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)
