Exciting role in new start-up out of hours provider, offering flexibility in a role while delivering high standard of emergency and critical care!

The Role:

  • Full time role is 7 nights on (7pm-8am) with 14 nights off – but part time and more flexible roles can be accommodated

  • Do you want the best of both worlds, and not ready to take the leap into solely emergency and critical care? They can work out a rota that is bespoke to you and gives you that flexibility.

About:

The practice is a long-standing practice in the community and is an RCVS accredited, purpose-built hospital practice in the same town, with still growing aspirations and ambitions. You will be working out of the main hospital site at night, set up in May 2022.

The hospital is based in Devon – an area of outstanding natural beauty with wonderful countryside, historic towns and the Jurassic coast on our doorstep (England’s only natural World Heritage Site). All of this AND we have great transport links with the M5 nearby and a mainline train service to London.

They are not an OOH provider run by locums – so they have a steady and consistent team with a wide range and depth of experience – their three night-nurses have over 40 years of experience between them.

Other Key Points:

  • This also means it is possible to be personalise the role to even deliver a combination of both day and night work if like the best of both worlds.

  • There are hospital rounds at the start and end of your shift with the day team, and all will be familiar faces.

  • They look after one another, and wellbeing initiatives are encouraged and seen through by the team.

  • They have an open culture, encouraging diversity and their team relationships are based on respect.

  • Opportunity to be involved in the growth and development of the OOH provision.

  • CPD and further training with certificates actively encouraged.

  • Accommodation between shifts is available enabling some downtime locally between night shifts.

  • Fantastic facilities, and can work-up cases to a high standard.

The Ideal Veterinary Surgeon:

  • Someone not quite ready to take the leap into ECC and want the best of both a day and night role.

  • Someone who is looking to take on the challenge of moving from day to night work.

  • Someone with some experience of ECC already, who is wanting a wider case load but with the time to be able to work-up cases and deliver a really high standard of patient care.

  • Someone with some experience of ECC and aspirations to complete a certificate

  • An experienced clinician, who is looking for a unique opportunity to be part of a start-up OOH provider and be involved in its development.

Benefits:

  • £55,000-68,000 per annum DOE

  • £5,000 relocation package

  • 7 nights of annual leave, giving a block of 5 weeks off per year!

  • RCVS, BVA and VDS membership included

  • £1000 a year to spend per year on patients using the ‘Care Fund’

  • & Much More!
