Calling all night owls!
We are very excited to announce that we are working with a clinic that following professional feedback and an evaluation of the practices' needs they are looking to expand their Manchester out-of-hours team based at their 24-hour centre). This role has been designed from the ground up to offer a flexible, well remunerated package ideal for a prospective night vet looking to make the most of a family friendly work-life balance.
So what is the role?
They are looking to recruit motivated, enthusiastic night vets to work an annualised rota of 3 nights on 25 nights off with a package up to £19,300
This role will be based in Ashton, a lovely site located on the eastern side of Manchester in Mossley. The practice is very well equipped with all usual mod cons (digital x-ray, ultrasound, flexible and rigid endoscopy, video otoscopy, full in-house labs, etc) as well as plans to site CT scanners at this location in the coming 12 months.
It is a 5-6 vet practice with plans to grow in the future and is supported by an experienced and capable team with numerous on-site certificate holders and links to neighbouring in-region referral units meaning that your cases will be well looked after following the end of your shifts. For support during your night shifts you will have the assistance of an experienced night RVN as well as a twilight PCA for the busier early parts of your shift.
This role is intended to be flexible enough to let you maintain a steady working pattern with the option to develop further. And they offer our usual benefits (£1500 CPD allowance, RCVS, VDS, BVA membership) as well as support for certificate work if desired. There will also be the option to develop your surgical skills with support from neighbouring practices if desired and we are exploring the option to incorporate a surgical internship in the future with this role!
Who would this suit?
This role involves sole charge work working exclusively nights and will be suited for someone who ideally has at least 2 years of in-practice experience.
Experience working OOH is also obviously desirable!
The day team appreciate good communication and handover skills to ensure your patients are receiving the best quality care after you’ve left the building. It goes without saying that they are looking for caring, committed professionals who take pride in providing exceptional care to clients – taking your pets to an emergency appointment is scary, and a calm, reassuring manner goes a long way!
