Night & Day Vet position in Hong Kong - Tai Wai Small Animal & Exotic Hospital
Join a progressive and busy 24-hour hospital (50% exotics, 50% small animals), with
exceptional facilities: 16-slice CT, digital radiography, various sizes flexible and rigid Storz
endoscopes, ultrasound, echocardiography, laparoscopic surgery, ultrasound, cryosurgery,
IDEXX lab suite/Abaxis machines, IM3 dental x-rays, dedicated hot and cool wards, and
specialized canine, feline and exotic ICU units.
Their friendly and supportive team of 11 vets includes 4 exotic certificate holders. They pride
themselves in providing their vets with more support staff than the average clinic: each vet has
a team of two Vet Nurses assigned, to assist them throughout the day with all aspects of
clinical work, including translation (English is the official language of the Hospital). Their night

and Vet Techs.
They strive to work towards excellence in ongoing training and education, and to create an
enjoyable and rewarding work environment. They also often enjoy a good laugh together!
Their vets enjoy free access to several scientific publications (including the Journal of
Emergency and Critical Care, JSAP, JFMS, VetClinNorthAm and JAVMA) and access to
specialist advice via the VetCT Teleconsulting service.
They are close to the sea, mountains and country parks, yet only a short drive to exciting
Central district, packed with skyscrapers, clubs and shopping malls. The subway system is
one of the best in the world! Outside the bustling city centre, there are stunning hiking trails
with lush vegetation, country parks, beaches and several outlying islands waiting to be
explored! Hong Kong boasts an amazing food culture, with countless options varying from
refined Michelin star restaurants to charming local street food stalls.
Who they are looking for:
They are looking for enthusiastic and caring small animal vets who will cover shifts with the
Night Team and also spend time on days developing their skills alongside their experienced
certificate veterinarians. Experience is highly regarded, but they also welcome applications

medicine and surgery.
No need to speak Cantonese, as English is an official language in Hong Kong, and
everyone can speak English in the Hospital.

The position offers either full time on nights, or a flexible combination of day and night work
(working a few months on nights followed by a few months on days, on rotation with the
other night vets) depending on candidate preference.
The working pattern for the night shift is of 3 nights one week, 4 nights the next week; the
day shift pattern consists of a regular 5-day week.
A dedicated team of 3-4 experienced assistants to help with the clinical work.
