Lloyd & Cowan Veterinary Recruitment are pleased to be representing a well-established mixed practice in the Athenry region, now seeking a motivated Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their expanding team.

The position would suit an experienced vet or a confident new graduate seeking strong mentorship and exposure across both large and small animal caseloads.

Practice Equipment & Facilities

You will have access to a full suite of modern diagnostic and clinical equipment, including:

  • Digital X-ray

  • Dental X-ray

  • Dental machine

  • Gas anaesthesia

  • Small animal & large animal ultrasound

  • In-house blood analysers

  • Well-equipped treatment, surgical, and farm-animal facilities


About the Role

  • A true 50:50 split between large and small animal work

  • Varied and engaging caseload, allowing you to develop your skills across both sectors

  • Responsibilities include routine farm animal visits, herd health work, SA consults, routine surgeries, and diagnostics

  • A practice culture committed to good work-life balance and supportive teamwork


About You

  • Comfortable with mixed practice or eager to develop skills in both areas

  • Excellent communication and client-care skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Newly qualified vets encouraged to apply — excellent support framework in place
