About the hospital:
Mixed animal hospital, primarily focused on small animals (80%), with some work in large animals (16%) and exotics, wildlife, and avian (4%).
In the small animal practice, you'll encounter a wide range of experiences, from handling emergencies to managing complex medical cases, including reproductive work.
You'll have the opportunity to observe and learn advanced surgeries while having most of your workup done in-house.
Large animal work involves pet goats, sheep, alpacas, pigs, and local farmer’s cows.
In addition, you'll get to care for backyard chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, mice, and pet birds.
Experienced nurses and head veterinarian, with over 30 years of experience, are at your disposal and are there to support you.
You will have access to:
IDEXX in-house labs
Human-hospital grade anesthetic machines with advanced monitoring
Digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, and more.
Ideally, 2 years of experience, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Eligible for registration in Australia
A commitment to staying up-to-date through continuing education
Cattle experience is highly advantageous but not essential.
Part-time applicants are also welcome.
You will have a fantastic work-life balance:
A 4-day work week
1-in-3 Saturdays (half day)
No after-hours or public holiday work
Consultations typically range from 15 to 45 minutes (case dependent, with most consults at 30 minutes).
Minimal late finishes
What's on offer:
Salary ranging from $80,000-$160,000
Superannuation paid in addition to the salary.
1 week paid Continuing Education leave.
CPD is encouraged and fees are covered.
