Position: Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Salary: £74,000 per year

Lloyd & Cowan is delighted to be representing a dynamic team in Prescot that is seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon for thriving, community-focused practice. With a minimum of 3 years’ UK small animal practice experience, the candidate will lead the team and contribute to the practice’s development.
The Position:
· This role is ideal for a Veterinary Surgeon ready to embrace leadership, foster collaboration, and positively impact both the team and patients.

Rota/ Hours:
· The role is full-time, working 39 hours a week over 4 days, offering progression alongside a work/life balance.

Responsibilities:
· Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
· Provide clear updates and exceptional care to clients.
· Maintain the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
· Prepare accurate estimates for clients, ensuring payment and minimising debt.
· Work closely with the Practice Manager to maximise commercial performance with a focus on key measures.
· Mentor and develop the team, enhancing their skills and utilising these effectively.
· Inspire the team by sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.
Skills and Experience
· RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
· Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
· Experience in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
· Understanding and appreciation of exceptional care and its impact on client experience.
· Experience in implementing a progressive clinical culture.
· Strong commercial performance through effective allocation of clinical activity.
· Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to maximise colleague performance.
