The Role:

The Clinical Lead Veterinarian is a “hands on” senior role which includes mentorship of junior vets. You will be supported within the leadership team by the General Manager Operations North and your Clinic Coordinator. You will see an incredible variety of cases, typical of the work expected in a large rural centre. Our clients want high level patient care so you will be able to work up and treat cases thoroughly.

Experience with all routine companion animal medicine and surgery is essential. An interest and skills in non-routine and orthopaedic surgery is preferred though not essential.

Development:

  • As part of Australia’s largest rural and production animal veterinary group – they offer considerable opportunities for training, personal development and career progression. The clinics are the heartlands of Australia’s dairy, beef feedlot and pig regions, and include several significant companion animal and equine clinics.

  • Formal leadership training will form part of your development plan.

  • The opportunity to develop extra skills in your area of special interest is encouraged. They offer industry-leading internal training as well as genuine support for your career progression including a formal leadership development program.

The Practice:

The practice is a busy and truly mixed practice with a varied case load. Team work and collaboration are valued and practiced within the clinic and I found all staff to be extremely welcoming and supportive

The overall mix of work at the clinic is approximately 70% companion and 30% large animal (equine and beef cattle).

There is no after hours on call requirement in this position.
