Lead Companion Animal Veterinarian – East Coast, New Zealand
An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced small animal vet to step into a lead role at a locally owned mixed animal practice on New Zealand’s stunning East Coast.
Based in beautiful Gisborne - known for its surf beaches, vineyards, and relaxed lifestyle - this role offers a rewarding career in a tight-knit and well-equipped clinic.
You’ll be part of a friendly, skilled team, managing a varied and interesting caseload. From routine consults to emergency surgeries like GDVs, pyometras, fractures, and working dog care - no two days are the same.
The Role:
Take the lead in delivering high-quality care to companion animals while building strong client relationships. You’ll help guide clinical protocols and provide mentorship within the team, playing a key part in the ongoing success and development of the clinic.
About you:
MUST be eligible for registration in New Zealand
Strong clinical experience in small animal medicine and surgery
An interest in working dogs and/or orthopaedic surgery is a bonus
Comfortable working sole charge after-hours
Leadership experience is great, but not essential
