Our client who we are pleased to be working with have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join them as Head Vet at their purpose-built practice. With a spacious car park and a beautiful garden, their RCVS Approved Hospital, which holds ICC Gold Cat-Friendly status, is the perfect setting for a rewarding career.

About them:

Their team includes experienced vets, nurses, and receptionists, many of whom have been with them for years, creating a supportive and close-knit environment. They are proud to offer orthopaedic, soft tissue, ophthalmology, and cardiology referral services, and their hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including a CT scanner, laparoscopy, endoscopy, and ultrasound. Collectively, their vet team has over 90 years of experience.

Your Role as Head Vet:

As Head Vet, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the future of their practice. You will work closely with their Practice Director, Practice Manager, and Nursing Manager as part of the Leadership Team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Mentoring and progressing the vet team

  • Managing the rota and organising vet meetings

  • Leading clinical excellence initiatives

Working hours:

  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week over 4 days

  • Shared weekend rota

  • No routine on-call duties, except for overseeing inpatients alongside their dedicated nursing team

Salary:

Up to £78K DOE
