This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Nurse or confident RVN to work alongside the management team, whilst supporting and leading this friendly team of nurses to facilitate the smooth running of this exceptional clinic. This could be your ideal role.....
This position is a full-time role working 40 hours, 4 days per week. The hours are from 8:30 am – 7 pm, with Saturdays on a shared 1:8 rota (8:30 am – 3 pm).
There are no out-of-hours or on-call in this role. The salary for this role is up to £32,000 depending on experience.
The duties for this role would include -
Managing the Nursing team
General day-to-day nurse duties, nurse consultations, theatre, and inpatient care, with all aspects of schedule 3 encouraged and supported.
Assisting with managing stock levels
Liaising and working closely with the Clinical Director and Practice Manager
Nurse performance appraisals
Organising equipment servicing and maintenance
Rotas - arranging short notice cover as needed
Supporting the Practice in maintaining its Practice Standards accreditation
The practice focus on encouraging progression, and development and welcome new ideas and ways of working. You will have plenty of support to allow you to thrive in this role, working in clinical areas and having designated time for administrative work associated with managing the nurse team.
About the Practice:
They are a 2-branch group covering the beautiful Suffolk countryside, situated near the historic market towns of Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket. They have excellent links via the A14 to beautiful beaches along the Suffolk coastline and the nearby railway stations that link directly to Cambridge and London.
Being a busy progressive practice, well equipped with digital x-ray, anaesthetic monitoring devices, and in-house laboratory testing at both sites. An external Orthopaedic Surgeon visits on a regular basis.
Their small friendly team consists of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, and 7 Support staff. Three of the Vets are certificate holders. And are always keen to encourage and support further study across the practice.
