Ready to Step Into a Leadership Role Where Your Voice Truly Matters?

I’m excited to be working with a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head Registered Veterinary Nurse who is ready to lead, inspire, and shape the future of a close-knit clinical team—while still staying hands-on and doing the nursing they love.

This role is perfect for someone who wants real career progression, flexibility, and the chance to make a genuine impact within a small, supportive practice where nurses are truly valued as clinical leaders.

Why this role stands out
You’ll be joining a friendly, tight-knit team where collaboration, respect, and high standards sit at the heart of everything. The practice is purpose-built and modern, with separate wards, an isolation unit, and excellent diagnostic and surgical facilities that allow you to deliver gold-standard care every day.

The caseload is varied and engaging, with visiting specialists regularly supporting advanced procedures—meaning you and your nursing team are exposed to a broad range of skills, cases, and learning opportunities.

The role itself
As Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll play a key role in both clinical excellence and team leadership. You’ll guide the day-to-day running of the nursing team, lead by example, and help develop individuals in their clinical interests—whether that’s theatre, nurse clinics, or patient care.

You’ll also be involved in:

  • Supporting and mentoring RVNs, students, and VCAs

  • Helping shape workflows, standards, and clinical protocols

  • Contributing to appraisals, training, and quality improvement

  • Working closely with an experienced veterinary leader who genuinely supports nurse-led development

This is a role where your ideas are welcomed, your leadership is trusted, and your growth is actively encouraged.

Work-life balance that actually works
Flexibility is taken seriously here. Full-time or part-time hours are available, with:

  • No out-of-hours work

  • A fair Saturday rota with time off in lieu or additional pay

  • Structured shifts with proper breaks built in

The rota is designed to support a sustainable, balanced working life—without compromising patient care.

What’s on offer
The benefits have been thoughtfully put together to support you professionally and personally:

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Welcome bonus following successful probation

  • RCVS and VDS fees fully covered

  • Funded CPD, actively encouraged and supported

  • Pension contributions

  • Private healthcare contribution

  • A range of lifestyle and wellbeing benefits, including retail and service discounts

Most importantly, you’ll be stepping into a role where you are genuinely respected as a clinical leader and given the space to thrive.

Let’s talk — confidentially
If this sounds like the kind of leadership role you’ve been waiting for, I’d love to have a confidential, informal conversation with you.
