Ready to Lead a Loyal Client Base With Full Support Behind You?
If you’re a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who thrives in a close-knit community practice and loves the autonomy of sole-charge GP work—while still having exceptional support behind the scenes—this opportunity is one you’ll want to hear about.
About the Role
I’m delighted to present a role perfect for an experienced GP vet who wants to put down roots, shape a practice, and build lasting client relationships. You’ll handle routine consultations, surgeries, and occasional triage, working alongside a capable trainee nursing team who know the clinic inside-out.
You can choose between a 30–40 hour week, depending on what best suits your lifestyle. Your rota includes a light weekend commitment (a rotating Saturday and occasional Sunday or bank holiday), with absolutely no on-call requirements.
Although this is a sole-charge role day to day, you’ll never feel isolated. You’ll be backed by:
-
A highly experienced regional manager
-
A supportive clinical lead
-
Neighbouring practices within easy reach for day-to-day collaboration
-
A nearby 24-hour hospital providing advanced imaging, surgical expertise, and full OOH cover
If leadership interests you, structured development is available to help you grow into a confidently independent clinician and branch lead.
What You’ll Receive
Beyond a rewarding role, you’ll benefit from a package designed to support your financial stability, clinical growth, and wellbeing:
-
A competitive salary (£60,000–£75,000 FTE) with clear progression opportunities
-
A generous holiday allowance, including bank holidays, supporting real work–life balance
-
A strong CPD offering, with dedicated funding and protected training days each year
-
Private medical cover to safeguard your own health
-
Covered professional memberships and licences, so you can stay focused on your patients
-
Access to wellbeing programmes and confidential support
-
Paid breaks to ensure your day feels manageable
-
Attractive staff discounts across services and partner perks
This is the ideal role for a vet who loves meaningful client connection, enjoys the rhythm of a well-run GP practice, and wants the freedom to make a real impact—with a strong support network always behind them.
