Exciting Opportunity for an Experienced Exotic Veterinary Surgeon to join a Great Team of 9 Vets in a Fully Kitted Practice!
The Role
This role will have a large and varied case load of both medical and surgical cases and duties are split between consulting, operating, work ups, inpatient care and out of hours duties. The client base is split between reptiles, avian and small furries in addition to small animals. The practice also look after two local wildlife parks.
Sole charge will be required during out of hours. And they run 30 minute initial exotic consults and 15-minute follow-ups as standard to enable us to provide an excellent service to our clients and provide an exceptional standard of care to our patients.
• 4-day week with one day off
• 1:6 weekends (week after 1/2-day Monday and Friday off)
The Practice:
They are fully kitted-out at both sites with all the usual toys plus laparoscopic surgical kit and CO2 laser. Treating both small animals and exotic species (first opinion and referrals) and are lucky enough to have the Peak Park on our doorstep, a great place to walk, run, climb, cycle or just enjoy the outdoors.
With a team of 9 Vets, they are supported by 10 RVNs and the client care team. They support each other and divide the workload equally. Clients are at the forefront of what they do and we encourage a bond built on mutual trust and respect.
The Ideal Applicant:
We are looking for an experienced and potentially Exotic Certificate holding RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon, who wants to develop and build upon their skills, to join 3 other Exotic Certified Vets.
An additional interest in small animal medicine would be actively encouraged. (Applications from those due to complete a Exotic Certificate would also be considered). 70% of the vets either hold a certificate or are studying for one.
They take a collaborative approach to cases, so you should be happy to take part in clinical case discussions. However, you must be capable of working independently too.
Positive energy and exceptional communication skills are essential.
