The Role:
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you’ll manage a diverse caseload of emergency presentations and support specialist inpatients. You’ll be part of a highly skilled team that works collaboratively across surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, cardiology, neurology, oncology, dermatology, and critical care.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing urgent medical, surgical, and critical care services, including stabilisation, assessment, treatment, and referral where required.
Performing a wide range of procedures and interventions, with mentorship and surgical support available for more complex cases.
Delivering high standards of patient care while maintaining excellent client communication.
Working alongside specialist teams, ensuring a seamless experience for patients, clients, and referring vets.

About You:
BVSc or equivalent degree recognised by the Veterinary Council of New Zealand
Minimum 2 years’ small animal practice experience OR a 1-year rotating internship
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
A positive, adaptable attitude and commitment to high clinical standards
Previous emergency experience advantageous but not essential
