Deputy Head Equine Nurse
Up to £35,500 DOE | Referral Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Head Equine Nurse to join a busy equine referral hospital in Berkshire. This role supports the Head Nurse in overseeing the daily clinical operations of the Equine Nursing Team, Equine Care Assistants and Yard Assistants.
The position combines advanced clinical nursing with leadership responsibilities, including staff supervision, training and operational management. You will help ensure the highest standards of patient care, biosecurity, client service and team performance are consistently maintained.
The Hospital
The RCVS Tier 3 hospital is well established, with a large and varied caseload covering both routine and emergency cases. Facilities allow for imaging and surgery 24/7, with equipment including digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound with colour Doppler, endoscopy, arthroscopy, operating microscope and microsurgical equipment.
The hospital is also a training centre for student nurses completing their Level 3 Diploma in Equine Nursing, so a passion for mentoring and supporting junior colleagues is essential.
