Our client, a forward-thinking veterinary practice in the Waipa district, Waikato is seeking an experienced Large Animal Dairy Veterinarian to join their dynamic team. This is your chance to combine hands-on clinical work with proactive herd health consultancy in one of New Zealand’s most productive dairy regions.
About the Role:
You’ll play a key part in supporting farmers to achieve better herd performance while also mentoring junior vets and contributing to the ongoing development of the practice. The role involves:
Delivering high-quality veterinary care across dairy operations, including reproductive, surgical, and emergency work
Leading on-farm consulting to help farmers plan and achieve their herd health goals
Mentoring and supporting colleagues to build capability and confidence
Participating in a shared after-hours roster, with structured support for work-life balance
Engaging with innovation and technology to help advance herd management
About you:
Veterinary degree and NZ registration
4+ years’ experience in dairy-focused large animal practice
Strong clinical, advisory, and consulting skills
Leadership potential and a collaborative mindset
Passion for improving animal health outcomes and farmer performance
Curiosity and openness to new ideas, technologies, and approaches
