Our client is a small independently owned mixed practice based in Northumberland, and we are assisting them in their search for a qualified Veterinary Nurse.
The team consists of 3 vets, 2 vet nurses, 3 receptionist/auxiliary staff and a practice/personnel manager.
Work ratio is around 70% small animal, 20% equine and 10% farm. We are looking for a veterinary nurse who is an excellent team player willing to switch between different roles within the practice when required, to include normal veterinary nurse duties. You will need to be motivated, extremely well organised and able to prioritise your own workload. You will need to have good people skills, be caring and understanding whilst also being open and honest at the same time. This role includes a Health and Safety role.
The current hours are 38 hours per week Monday 8.15-4.00, Tues 14.00 -7.30 (subject to review), Wed 8.15-5.30, Thurs 8.15-4.00 and Fri 8.15-4:00pm. We may consider a part time/job share.
This is a permanent vacancy and you will be entitled to 5.8 weeks holiday per year (pro rata for part timers/part year). You may be required to cover some holidays however, these are notified well in advance. During these periods you may work extra - you will be paid when covering extras for holidays and accrue holidays accordingly and wages will be negotiable dependant on experience. Newly qualified vet nurses are encouraged to apply.
