A large, multi-site Tier 3 Hospital
based in West Yorkshire are currently seeking to appoint a Lead Veterinary Surgeon
to join the team. They are all about clinical quality and developing ourselves
to be the best vets we can be.
Based just a short train ride from
the city of Leeds with easy access to the beautiful Peak District and the
city of York less than 1 hour away.
An amazing practice that has fully
equipped facilities and state-of-the-art equipment:
ultrasound, CT and visiting MRI
range of scopes including flexible, rigid and laparoscopy
suite with X-ray
equipped internal lab with lab tech
The Lead Vet role can be shaped
around the person to a degree but the key parts of this role are or could be:
- Clinical leadership - following best practice,
supervising and assisting more junior vets, setting the standards, identifying
any issues, working with other lead vets to drive in house CPD programme,
arranging CPD meetings, M&M rounds and clinical governance (VetSafe)
- General leadership - dealing with on the day
issues, client complaints, working well with nursing and reception teams
management - supporting a team (approx 4-6 vets), doing PDRs, inductions and
helping with issues/problems etc as needed
leadership - participating when needed in strategic planning, setting budgets
and succession planning
- identifying areas that hinder workflow or could be done better, bringing
What they offer:
A full time vet works a 4d week with
1 in 4 weekends, offering an average 44hr week. NOTE that this includes plenty
of admin/CPD time
- Generous Salary, depending on skillset
- 6.6 weeks holiday plus birthday off
- Min £1k CPD with support for
certificates and a huge bank of free Linnaeus CPD to certificate holder level
