Registered Lead Veterinary Nurse - Leeds


You will work with a team of 200 people who work hard to give the best access to good veterinary care.

There are 9 surgeries some a few months old, others much older and vary from 3 - 17 vets and all are growing fast environment. This is a fast-paced environment, with a varied caseload.The second CT scanner is also about to be installed, which is part of the practices commitment to helping the team deliver good accessible care and have a meaningful career.

The opportunity

Following the increased demand for our services and the introduction of a dedicated 24/7 operation our Dewsbury surgery are now seeking a lead veterinary nurse to join their growing team.

The surgery is fast-paced and the case-load changes at a rapid rate, meaning this is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who is looking to take the next exciting step in their career.

From day 1 working you'll be exposed to an ever-changing caseload that will be a mixture of inpatients and emergencies that will help you to continually develop your skills and capabilities. You will work alongside the best Vets and Nurses and who all work together to better the lives of sick pets and you can be sure you'll be welcomed into the community.

The Person

The new Nurse will be ready to take on the challenge of leading an experienced team of dedicated nurses as well as assisting the vets. The surgery is well-equipped with the latest industry-standard technology meaning your working environment will help to support you as you take the next exciting step in your career. Advanced surgeries including orthopaedics, BOAS and total hip replacement are regularly performed across the group and there is access to two CT scanners as well as advanced X-Ray and ultrasound services so you can be proud of your working environment.


Full-time 40-hour week, over 4 days and 1 in 5 weekends (shared weekend rota)


Salary Scale is £24,989 - £29,227 with 6 weeks holiday, including bank holidays as well as UK and International CPD faded to certificate level. Private healthcare will be added to this fantastic package, 52 weeks sickness benefit; and free employee assistance program - awarded after 12 months of service. Additionally, access to the contributory pension scheme, access to counselling support including mental health, financial and life counselling after 12 months of service.
