Our client who we are delighted to be working with are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The day-to-day duties include consultations, diagnostic and surgical procedures, to work within a team of motivated and skilled vets and nurses, and excellent support staff.

Rota:

Normal working days are Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30, this can be flexible within these times, days off are included, and later evening consultations are possible if wanted. They provide their own 'on call' out of hours service to their own clients. On duty times are between 17:30 and 08:30 Monday to Friday, and Weekends from 08:30 Saturday to 08:30 Monday. There are no routine consultations during these times. On duty is either a Saturday or Sunday. Frequency of on call is 1:5/6 Monday-Friday, then 1:7 Saturday and 1:8 Sunday.
About the practice:

This is a small animal, one site, well equipped practice. They are an RCVS accredited first-opinion practice, which also takes local referrals in multiple disciplines. The practice is based in a market town with a close-knit community.

They are a training practice for veterinary nurses. They aim to provide a high quality, professional, friendly service, and all work together as a team, and with their clients, to provide the best care for their pets.

Currently they have 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 11 Veterinary Nurses and 2 Veterinary Care Assistants. They also have 5 Receptionists, and 4 Support Staff responsible for administration and management.
Ideal Candidate:

They would prefer an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is able to work within the team and also be happy to work with a nurse on call. They would consider a graduate with less experience (and would provide dedicated backup cover). They would like someone who is a motivated GP vet and who wants to provide excellent care within their rural community. They would encourage and support someone to develop their own areas of interests within the practice, to complement their team of dedicated, skilled vets and nurses.
