A Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon Role Designed for Flexibility, Support, and Outstanding Clinical Practice
I’m delighted to share an exceptional opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon seeking a part-time, first-opinion position within a genuinely supportive and well-established clinical team. This role offers a balance of autonomy, collaboration, and flexibility—ideal for someone who wants to deliver high-quality medicine without compromising their lifestyle.
In this position, you’ll enjoy a thoughtfully structured rota of approximately 20 hours per week, including a fair rotation of weekend shifts. There is no on-call, which allows you to maintain a healthy work–life rhythm. You’ll be working alongside experienced colleagues, ensuring you’re never isolated in clinical decision-making, and the practice itself offers a calm, well-equipped environment with dedicated wards, multiple consult spaces, and advanced diagnostic tools such as ultrasound.
What truly makes this opportunity stand out is the atmosphere—warm, collegial, and built on longstanding relationships with a very loyal, largely insured client base. The practice is also supported by a major 24-hour hospital offering state-of-the-art facilities, including CT, advanced imaging, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and access to multiple specialists. This ensures seamless referral options whenever your cases require that next step.
What You'll Receive:
This part-time position comes with a competitive salary and a benefits package designed to support your clinical development, wellbeing, and professional growth:
-
Salary banding of £22,635–£30,683 (equivalent to £45,000–£61,000 FTE), depending on experience
-
Exceptional clinical freedom with access to advanced support whenever needed
-
Generous CPD allowance with paid study leave, supporting both professional interests and career progression
-
Private medical cover and wellbeing initiatives
-

-
Option to expand your hours if desired
