We at Lloyd & Cowan are delighted to be working with a practice who are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join their team of caring and professional vets and nurses who provide the very best of care to companion animals.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time role working approximately 36 hours during the week plus a share of OOH rota. 1-in-5 weekends on call (practice closed except for Sat am) and a share of weekday on calls equating to approximately 1 night every 2 weeks. They strive to provide the very best of care to companion animals from our 2 purpose-built surgeries that are based between the Lakes and the Dales, beautiful parts of the country.

Salary is dependent on experience.

About them:

This practice has two purpose-built practices in both Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale that are fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology offering a wide range of medical and surgical treatments including Digital radiography, endoscopy/bronchoscopy, modern operating theatres, in house lab and ultrasound scanners at both sites. They offer a fantastic team of caring and professional vets, nurses, and support staff. Their main branch in Kendal is on the edge of The Lake District known for its beautiful lakes, rugged fell mountains and historic literary associations and their branch practice in Kirkby Lonsdale has the Yorkshire Dales on its doorstep best known for its stunning scenery and great natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Aysgarth Falls, a stunning area and located close to the M6 and other travel links.

Team:

They are a team of 10 small animal vets that are of part of a 15-vet mixed Small animal and Farm practice – SA and FA run as separate clinical teams. They have a team of 8 RVNs and 1 SVN and to compliment that they have a team of 12 full and part time support staff across their two sites.

Applicant Requirements:

They are looking for an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in orthopaedic surgery. Opportunities for progression within the practice exist for the right candidate looking for a long-term role. They are looking for a hardworking, friendly, and relaxed SA clinician to join their team to deliver an excellent standard of clinical care in a friendly, and welcoming environment in a beautiful part of the country.
