An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 1st opinion surgical and medical Veterinary Surgeon to join our clients friendly and supportive team in Ashton-in-Makerfield!

They are proud to be an eco-practice! You’ll have a varied caseload, with opportunities to develop specialism if wished.

Rota and salary

  • 36 hours over a 4-day week (9.00am - 6.00pm),

Their premises are both light and spacious and are fully equipped with x ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, tonometry, in-house labs, and bipolar diathermy. Both surgeries have dedicated ventilation systems with positive pressure operating rooms to provide a healthy working environment.

They take their responsibility to the planet seriously and take every opportunity to minimise their impact on the environment. From the purpose built only passivhaus Veterinary Clinic in the UK right down to the eco-friendly toys and accessories they are dedicated to making a difference.

They're right in between Liverpool and Manchester if the city lights appeal, or short distances away from numerous country parks and areas to hike, relax or sip tea (or beer!) as you fancy. If beaches are for you, we're just half an hour away from Southport and New Brighton, and links to major motorways are close by if you want to get further away.

They have 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Veterinary Nurses (including 2 Advanced nurses), 2 VCAs and a team of dedicated receptionists lead by their practice manager.

You will be enthusiastic and positive, believing what you do makes a difference to your clients and the world around you. You may have professional interests you wish to pursue into a specialised career, or you may be looking for a place to establish your expertise. Either way they are the place for you.

They would welcome your input and interests to help shape the next stage of their journey here.

Applicant Requirements:

You will be an enthusiastic Vet Surgeon with some post qualification experience preferably (although they are able to support newly qualified vets too). You must be a team player who enjoys sharing good practice with colleagues as well as learning from their experience and examples.
