RCVS Outstanding Hospital | Advanced Caseload | South Yorkshire
Looking for a role that gives you more than routine GP?
This is an opportunity to join one of the region’s most respected and well equipped small animal hospitals, offering exposure to an incredibly varied caseload within a genuinely supportive clinical environment.
Established for over 20 years, this RCVS recognised Outstanding Hospital has evolved into a true centre of excellence, combining first opinion, ECC and advanced referral level work all under one roof.
Why This Role Stands Out
You’ll work alongside a highly experienced team of 15 vets within a collaborative hospital environment where ongoing learning, case discussion and clinical progression are heavily encouraged.
The caseload is diverse and genuinely interesting, ranging from routine surgery and medicine through to:
• Orthopaedics
• Neurosurgery
• Minimally invasive procedures
• Endoscopy
• Stem cell therapy
• Advanced medical workups
• Complex surgical cases
This is the kind of environment where vets can properly develop their skills rather than simply refer everything externally.
Hospital Facilities
The hospital is exceptionally well equipped with:
• CT scanner
• Rigid & flexible endoscopy
• Advanced ultrasound equipment
• Dedicated surgical facilities
• In house emergency service team
• Modern diagnostics and imaging
Whether you are looking to build confidence, pursue a certificate, or simply work within a stronger clinical setting, the infrastructure and support are already there.
The Team & Culture
One of the biggest strengths here is the people.
You’ll be surrounded by a large multidisciplinary team including experienced vets, RVNs and dedicated OOH clinicians, creating a very collaborative atmosphere with excellent continuity of care across cases.
The practice genuinely invests in its vets and supports different career goals, whether that’s further study, surgery, medicine or simply becoming a stronger all round clinician.
Location
Based in South Yorkshire, the hospital offers excellent access to Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester while benefiting from a far lower cost of living than many larger cities. You also have the Peak District right on your doorstep for anyone wanting a balance of city access and outdoors lifestyle.
What’s On Offer
- Competitive salary package up to £65,000
- Generous CPD allowance
- Certificate support encouraged
- Paid RCVS, BVA & VDS memberships
- Pension scheme
- Flexible full or part time options
- Hospital level caseload and equipment
- Weekend work involved within the rota
Opportunities to join hospitals of this calibre outside of referral practice are becoming increasingly rare, particularly within teams that genuinely prioritise support and clinical development.
