Veterinary Surgeon | Galway City | €45,000 – €60,000 DOE
Full time, permanent – 40 hours over 4–5 days
A busy, well-equipped small animal practice in Galway is looking for an experienced vet to join the team across two sites, including their referral centre in Knocknacarra and a city centre branch.
This is first opinion work with referral-level kit behind you – CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, dental suites and modern theatres – and a genuine mix of consulting, surgery and case work. There is real scope to build a special interest, particularly in surgery, imaging or dentistry.
The rota
- 40 hours across 4–5 days
- Shifts between 8:30am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday
- Out of hours shared with a neighbouring practice, currently around 1 in 6
- Weekday on-call comes with time off in lieu
The team
Experienced vets, a full nursing team, a practice manager and dedicated support staff. Collaborative, well established, and used to bringing people on.

- €45,000 – €60,000 depending on experience, with annual pay reviews
- €1,300 CPD allowance plus 5 paid CPD days (pro rata)

Who it suits
An experienced small animal vet who is VCI registered and comfortable running first opinion cases independently. A certificate, or a clear clinical interest you want to develop, is genuinely valued here. This one is not suited to new graduates or anyone needing close mentorship.
