Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
South Manchester

An established and progressive small animal group in South Manchester is looking to welcome an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet wanting exposure to a varied caseload, strong clinical support, and excellent long-term development opportunities within a highly equipped hospital environment.

The Role

You would be joining a large, collaborative veterinary team with access to experienced colleagues, certificate holders, and an in-house referral service. The role offers an excellent mix of consulting, surgery, and case continuity within a busy first opinion setting.

This would suit a vet who enjoys working cases up thoroughly and is looking to continue developing both medically and surgically within a supportive environment.

  • Full time position

  • 4 day working week

  • Shared weekend rota

  • Occasional late evening shifts (5pm–11pm) supported by the dedicated hospital/OOH team

  • No on-call requirements

The Practice & Facilities

The wider group includes a Tier 3 hospital alongside a strong in-house referral setup, allowing access to advanced diagnostics, imaging, and treatment options without needing to refer externally.

Facilities include:

• CT scanner and visiting MRI
• Digital radiography
• Ultrasound and dental radiography
• Flexible and rigid endoscopy
• Laparoscopy and fluoroscopy
• Advanced anaesthesia equipment
• Dedicated hospital and referral support

Clinical Development

This is an excellent environment for vets wanting to continue progressing clinically. Certificates are actively encouraged and funded, with the caseload and support structure in place to help vets pursue areas of interest and develop long term within the team.

Location

Located within easy reach of central Manchester, the Peak District, and major transport links, the practice offers a great balance between city life and outdoor lifestyle.

Package & Benefits

  • Salary from around £41,500+ depending on experience

  • Generous CPD allowance with certificate support

  • RCVS and additional membership fees paid

  • VDS cover
