Are you thinking of a job in Small Animal Orthopaedics and spinal surgery, if you are then we are delighted to be working with a Veterinary practice in West Sussex, within easy reach of the South Coast and London, who are looking for a candidate to fulfil this Job: A Veterinary Orthopaedic Intern

The Practice:

This practice is a busy, dedicated small animal orthopaedic and spinal surgery referral practice. The Veterinary team in this practice comprises two RCVS Specialists in Small Animal Surgery, one ECVS Diplomate in Small Animal Surgery, and one RCVS Advanced Practitioner. The Practice recently re-located to a newly refurbished building with excellent facilities (3 operating theatres and on-site CT) in a beautiful rural setting. A mobile MRI scanner regularly visits the practice.

They are very well equipped to deal with the full range of orthopaedic procedures (THR, TPLO, CUE, arthroscopy etc.)

The Role:

The role of the intern is to assist the referral surgeons in the diagnosis and surgical management of referred cases. You will have an important role in the perioperative care of surgical cases under the supervision of the referral surgeons and will gain a lot of experience in all aspects of case management.

This position will particularly appeal to recent graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in referral surgery. Several of their previous interns have secured university residency positions and have published articles in peer-reviewed journals.

This position is full-time on a fixed term contract for 12 months, but there is no requirement for weekend work.

A successful candidate.

The successful candidate will be keen and enthusiastic, with a strong desire to learn and work effectively within a team of Vets and Nurses.

Remuneration:

·         Salary will depend on experience (£35k-£38k pa)

·         Plus £2,000 per year CPD allowance (5 days)

·         Holiday entitlement is 33 days, inclusive of bank holidays

·         Contributory pension and private medical care included

Location:

Between Dorking and Horsham on Surrey/Sussex
