Night Registered Veterinary Nurse – A Unique Opportunity to Shape Your Nights - 4 on 8 off!

Not all nursing roles are created equal — some offer that rare mix of challenge, autonomy, and the chance to make a real difference when it matters most. This is one of those roles.

A well-established veterinary hospital is looking for a Night Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their dedicated out-of-hours team. Working overnight, you’ll be at the heart of patient care, providing hands-on nursing support, triaging urgent cases, and helping to deliver gold-standard care to inpatients through the quiet hours.

This is a permanent position, working on a rolling rota of 4 nights on, 8 nights off, giving you the perfect balance between work and life.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary tailored to your experience.
  • A regular and predictable rota, designed to support your work-life balance.
  • Generous benefits package, including professional fees covered, access to CPD, enhanced family leave, health and wellness support, and more.
  • A supportive clinical environment where nurses are encouraged to develop advanced skills and take an active role in inpatient care and emergency cases.

The Role at a Glance

  • Leading overnight nursing care for hospitalised patients.
  • Assisting the vet with emergency admissions and urgent procedures.
  • Managing nurse-led patient handovers between the night and day teams.
  • Triage and coordination of incoming emergency calls.
  • Helping to maintain the clinical areas, ensuring they are fully prepared for day shift handovers.

Who They’re Looking For

  • An RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse with a proactive approach and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoys working closely with vets and fellow nurses.
  • Previous emergency/critical care experience is desirable, but a confident all-rounder with a keen interest in ECC will also be considered.
  • A nurse who values teamwork and communication, especially when it comes to clear and thorough handovers.

Why Apply?
This is more than just a nursing job — it’s a chance to become a vital part of a dedicated out-of-hours team, where no two shifts are the same. If you’re someone who enjoys the unique challenges and rewards of night work, this could be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
