Registered Veterinary Nurse

Location: East of Scotland | Hours: Full Time | Type: Permanent

A leading veterinary hospital in the East of Scotland is looking for an enthusiastic and capable Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their growing clinical team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-equipped, multi-disciplinary environment that places a strong emphasis on quality patient care, collaboration, and nurse development. You’ll be part of a friendly and inclusive team that supports personal growth and professional satisfaction — within a practice known for its forward-thinking approach and commitment to gold-standard veterinary care.

The Role

This is a full-time clinical nursing role with a varied weekly rota, including a mix of early, standard, and late shifts, as well as a fair share of weekend cover. There is no out-of-hours or on-call work, with all emergency care handled externally.

You’ll be working across a broad caseload, supporting a team of experienced clinicians in a fast-paced but welcoming hospital environment. You’ll also have the opportunity to engage in nurse clinics and contribute to the overall smooth running of inpatient care and theatre operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of clinical care across medical and surgical cases

  • Provide excellent nursing care to hospitalised patients

  • Assist with anaesthesia monitoring, diagnostics, and medication administration

  • Support vets with procedures and patient admissions/discharges

  • Carry out nurse-led clinics and provide client education when required

  • Maintain cleanliness, sterility, and safety in clinical areas

  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, health & safety standards, and controlled drug regulations

  • Contribute to stock management, meetings, and general practice duties

About You

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse

  • Comfortable in a hospital or busy practice setting

  • Confident in general nursing duties, patient care, and anaesthetic monitoring

  • Great communicator and proactive team player

  • Able to multitask and adapt in a dynamic clinical environment

  • Keen to learn, contribute, and support colleagues

  • Open to ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities

What’s on Offer

  • A supportive and engaging working environment with a strong team ethos

  • Access to a varied and interesting clinical caseload

  • Encouragement and financial support for CPD

  • Structured rota with no out-of-hours

  • Competitive holiday allowance, including set time off over the festive period

  • A practice culture that values well-being, teamwork, and professional pride

This is an ideal role for a motivated RVN looking to be part of a positive, progressive practice where your voice is heard and your skills are respected.
