Veterinarian – Surgery Interest
An established and progressive small animal hospital in Maryland is looking to welcome an experienced veterinarian with a strong interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry.
This opportunity would suit a vet who enjoys a varied GP caseload but particularly wants to continue developing surgical and dental skills within a highly supportive environment. The role offers a balanced split between consulting and dedicated procedural days, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on clinically while still building long-term client relationships.
The Team
You would be joining a collaborative 4-doctor team supported by experienced technicians and long-standing support staff within a genuinely team-focused environment. The veterinary team has interests across surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, preventative care, and exotic animal medicine, creating a strong setting for mentorship and clinical discussion.
The culture is supportive rather than corporate, with a strong emphasis on high-quality medicine, client communication, and continuous development.
Surgical & Dental Focus
This role is particularly well suited to a veterinarian wanting to continue advancing skills within:
• Soft tissue surgery
• Dentistry and oral surgery
• Dental radiography
• Complex medical workups
• Ultrasound and advanced diagnostics
The caseload includes routine and more advanced procedures such as:
• Mass removals
• Foreign body surgeries
• Pyometra surgeries
• Cystotomies
• Dental procedures and extractions
Dedicated procedural days allow vets to properly focus on surgery and dentistry rather than squeezing procedures around consults.
Facilities
The hospital is modern and very well-equipped, featuring:
• 5 exam rooms
• Dedicated surgical suite
• Advanced dental equipment with intraoral radiography
• Ultrasound and endoscopy capabilities
• Strong in-house diagnostics
• Fear Free focused patient care
The practice sees dogs, cats, and exotic pets, offering an interesting and varied caseload day to day.

Why Maryland?
Maryland offers an excellent balance of career opportunity, lifestyle, and accessibility along the East Coast. Whether you prefer city living, coastal areas, or quieter suburban communities, the state offers a wide variety of lifestyle options while still being within easy reach of major hubs such as Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and New York.
The area is known for its strong food scene, waterfront living, outdoor activities, and comparatively lower cost of living than many surrounding metropolitan regions. It’s an ideal location for veterinarians looking for both long-term career progression and a high quality of life outside of work.
