Lloyd & Cowan Veterinary Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Medical Director to join a well-established, full-service veterinary practice in Riverbank, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian with leadership experience to oversee the medical team while providing high-quality care to patients and collaborating on the strategic direction of the practice.

As the Medical Director, you will lead the veterinary team, ensure adherence to high medical standards, and work alongside the leadership team to ensure the financial and operational success of the hospital. This role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, allowing you to have a direct impact on both patient care and the hospital’s growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of veterinarians and staff to provide exceptional veterinary care.
  • Oversee medical standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on financial planning, budgeting, and operational strategies.
  • Balance administrative duties with patient care responsibilities.
  • Manage hospital inventory and recommend new equipment purchases.
  • Ensure effective communication with clients and staff to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide coaching and support when needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $160,000 - $185,000

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience
  • Leadership or management experience is preferred
  • Active veterinary license in good standing
