Surgical Lead Veterinary Surgeon | London | £80,000
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a Surgical Lead position within a well-established, forward-thinking small animal group across London.
This is a newly created role, offering the chance to work across a small number of well-equipped sites, all within easy reach of central London. The position has been designed for a surgically driven vet looking to take the lead on complex soft tissue and orthopaedic cases, while still maintaining a level of first opinion involvement.
The Role
This is a surgically focused position, ideal for a senior vet or certificate holder who enjoys operating and wants to further develop a surgical caseload without moving into full referral.
You will take the lead on more complex procedures, while also supporting and mentoring the wider clinical team across sites. There is an established client base, providing a strong foundation for both in-house surgical work and continued growth of the service.
While surgery will form the core of the role, there will be a small proportion of consult work built in to support case continuity and post-operative care. Dedicated admin time is also factored into the day to allow proper case management.
The Practice
You will be working across modern, purpose-built clinics, designed with a strong focus on clinical standards, patient care and team wellbeing. The sites are well equipped with up-to-date surgical and diagnostic facilities, allowing you to operate at a high clinical level.
The wider team is experienced and supportive, and this role offers real scope to influence clinical direction, particularly in developing surgical services across the group.
What They’re Looking For
Experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a strong surgical bias
Previous senior, lead or certificate-level experience desirable
Interest in orthopaedics advantageous, but not essential
Confident working across multiple sites and adapting to different teams
Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach
What’s on Offer
Salary up to £80,000 depending on experience
4 day week with 1 in 4 weekends
No out of hours
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
CPD allowance and funded professional memberships
Leadership and development opportunities
Enhanced family leave and additional wellbeing support
Range of staff discounts and benefits
And more!
This is a great opportunity for a surgically driven vet looking to take the next step into a leadership-focused role, with the support, caseload and facilities to really make an impact.
