An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and close-knit small animal and exotics practice on the Fylde Coast.

Whether you're newly qualified or an experienced Vet, you'll be joining a supportive team that places genuine importance on collaboration, career development and work-life balance.

The role

  • Salary from £45,000 to £65,000 DOE
  • Full-time role over just three days per week
  • Working hours of 8:30am–7pm
  • 1 weekday night on-call every two weeks
  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings, finishing by 12pm
  • Dedicated emergency Vet support after Saturday lunchtime

You'll manage a varied caseload, with dedicated time for breaks, client calls and case discussions. The ideal candidate will be confident with routine surgery and consulting and comfortable with sole charge during occasional OOH cover.

The practice

The practice offers a growing and varied caseload across small animals and exotics, alongside excellent facilities. Recent developments include separate dog and cat areas, dedicated rabbit, exotic and bird wards, with a brand-new CT scanner and additional operating theatre also planned.

You'll be supported by an experienced team of Vets, RVNs and VCAs, with an RVN available during on-call shifts.

Why join?

This is a genuinely sociable and supportive practice where the team enjoys regular events, weekly Friday breakfasts and an annual team trip. Located close to sandy beaches and within easy reach of the Lake District, Manchester and Liverpool, there is plenty to enjoy outside of work.

On offer

  • 6.6 weeks' paid holiday, including Bank Holidays
  • £1,750 annual CPD allowance
  • RCVS membership plus two additional professional memberships paid
  • VDS cover

If a three-day working week and a supportive, sociable team sound like what you're looking for, get in touch confidentially to find out more.
